‘Modi’s arrogance’: Rahul Gandhi after protesting farmer killed at Khanauri border
Rahul Gandhi said that the history will definitely demand an account of the 'killing of farmers' from the BJP.
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), which led the farmers’ protest against the Narendra Modi government in 2020-21, on Thursday jumped into the ongoing agitation and announced to hold ‘Black Day’ protests across India tomorrow.
According to reports, the decision was taken after a meeting of SKM’s national coordination committee in Chandigarh earlier today.
The powerful farmer union has announced to hold ‘Akrosh Diwas’ or ‘Black Day’ on Friday in solidarity with the protesting farmers.

On February 26, the SKM will also organise an all-India tractor rally to put pressure on the government to quit the WTO.
Moreover, the farmer union has also planned to organise an All India Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on March 14 where more than one lakh farmers and farm labourers are expected to reach.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU)-led by Rakesh Tikait has also announced to organise a one day programme where the farmers under the BKU banner will take tractors to the highways towards Delhi.
Speaking to reporters, Rakesh Tikait said that farmers associated with the BKU will go to the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi to attend the March 14 Kisan Mahapanchayat.
“On 26th February, we will take tractors to the highway, towards the way that goes to Delhi, we will enter into the state highway and central highway. It will be a one-day programme and then we will return. Then all across India, our meetings will go on. On 14th March, there will be a programme at Ram Leela ground in Delhi for one day. People will go without tractors to that event. Govt keeps saying, they are not stopping us so let’s see if they will stop us or not,” Tikait said.
The development comes a day after a 24-year-old youth farmer was allegedly killed in Haryana police firing during the ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest march at Khanauri border.
